Types of fire protection
There are two types of fire protection systems:
Active fire protection systems, which are designed to extinguish and fight fires and
Passive fire protection systems, which help contain the fire.
Active fire protection systems can include fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, etc., while passive fire production systems include fire doors, fire-rated walls, smoke barriers, sealants, etc.
Taking small and periodic steps is essential to ensure a fire protection system functions properly. These steps include having a proper and compliant fire protection system, training the workforce in fire fighting, careful handling and storage of hazardous materials, avoiding live wires, keeping fire-fighting equipment easily accessible, maintaining the equipment regularly, keeping the fire exits clutter-free, having a system for approval of hot work, and assessing the fire load.

Fire load is a measure that evaluates the severity of damage in a hypothetical fire accident. Fire safety consultants use this measure to design appropriate fire protection systems. Fire safety consultants should follow the fire safety codes and design a fire protection system that minimizes fire accidents, loss o f life or property, workforce injuries, and production hours loss.
